NCEA Level Two is the first chance students have the opportunity to take photography as a subject. The year introduces students to the use of a manual camera and all of its functions, working in a darkroom to produce photos and the history and theory of photography. During the year students have the opportunity to gain 24 credits towards their NCEA.
NCEA Level three develops and builds on knowledge introduced in level two. The year is made up of 24 credits, 14 externally assessed in the form of a three panel folio and 10 which are internally assessed. Students are given the opportunity to develop their own ideas and issues through their photography.
