Pasifika Group performs at May 4th Assembly image
On the 4th of May our Kiribati performing group showed us the dances they performed at the Pasifika Festival in Auckland last term. The Pasifika festival is a gathering of all the Pacific communities in New Zealand. It is a very special day for the Pacific communities who perform and compete against friends and meet up with family who live in other parts of New Zealand. On Tuesday 15th September, the Kiribati culture group, made up of Kiribati students from Mahurangi College, gave a performance of their songs and dances to the senior and Junior assemblies. The countries most unconventional Art gallery via a 8m truck arrived at Mahurangi College for two days this week. For many students this was the first chance they have been given to see live art - the true scale, texture and colour of the art work.
