27 Academic Blues were presented at the Annual Blues Awards along with the Thirlestane Award for the student achieving the highest grade point average at Level 3 in the 2011 NCEA exams, this year won by Nina Su. Ex-pupil Dr James Johnston was the guest speaker. On the night, it was also noted that Mahurangi College gained 15 scholarships in last years examinations as well.
