The theme for this year's Stage Challenge was gambling. The concept, devised by the Planning Team lead by Elya Martin, was based around a family struggling with this addiction. It depicted the tragedy the affects of gambling can have on relationships. Mark Mitchell and Claire Thompson representing the Stage Challenge Foundation presented the awards to our successful Stage Challenge group at Tuesdays Assembly. The Stage Challenge team produced a great theme based on Wizard of Oz where a girl turnsher back on her home but then after many sad experiences with “friends” and others, she realizes home was not so bad and returns. About 80 Mahurangi College students were on stage at the Aotea Centre in Auckland on Friday evening June 13, for the annual Stage Challenge event, after giving the locals a preview the night before.
