Mahurangi College sent two team to play in the annual Intermediate North Harbour Competition on Thursday 1st November. The Year 7&8 Girls team was Captained by Tonya Botherway and Mariana Winiana, both very good players and lead by example. Six students completed their Provincial Touch season on the weekend in Papamoa at the Northern IPS Tournament. Mako Osborne & Tamara Hagger - members of the North Harbour Under 13 Elite Girls were undefeated in the tournament and took out the IPS by beating Auckland 3 - 2 in the final. This team also won the Tri-Series tournament in January - beating Counties and Auckland. more..

The senior boys and girls touch teams are now in fundraising and training for the Touch Nationals to be held in Palmerston North in early December. Both teams had to qualify by finishing in the top two teams in the North Harbour Secondary Schools competition then going to a Regional Competition involving schools from Northland, North Harbour and West Auckland.

The Secondary Schools Touch Nationals Tournament has just been held in Palmerston North from the 12 – 14th December. Mahurangi College was fortunate to have two teams qualify for this tournament. The Senior Mixed team gained entry by winning both the North Harbour and the Zone Regionals and the Senior Girls who came second at North Harbour and third at the Zone Regionals. The tournament was the culmination of three terms of fundraising and intense preparation. more..
