PTA news update June 2012

After a very busy start of the year with the successful Hungerford Games movie night, assisting at the Mahurangi College reunion and the Revival Fashion Show at Matakana on June 8th (Thank you to all the generous sponsors), your PTA are now busily planning for 2 upcoming events which you should be sure to mark in your diaries as you won't want to miss them.

Movie Night Friday Sept 28th- Theme Super Heroes - wonderful prizes.

Fashion Show and Auction - Friday 26 October

The Dads and Lads Day has been postponed to the end of Term 1 2013 – Planning at this stage to be at the College with  diggers, archery and clay pigeon shooting on the agenda. More information shortly

The PTA Gift Fair has unfortunately had to be cancelled for this year due to clashes with other events

The PTA have been happy to be able to give back to the school lately with donations (in 2011) to benefit the Maori Department, Social Studies Department and the whole school generally. So far in 2012, there has been a donation to assist the 2012 Stage Challnege.  We are also excited to be working on a way that the college will really be able communicate with the community in the future with a brand new Electronic Sign – this is something we have been looking at for many years and thanks to some great fundraising efforts lately we are now in the final stages of planning with this. Once building consent is approved, it will be able to be erected outside the college.

It has been great to see some new faces at our recent meetings. You are all part of the PTA as a right if you have children at the college and we would welcome any of you to our meetings to share your ideas and lend a hand. Feel free to call me any time if you would like any more information on what we do and when our meeting are.

Anyone who has a child or children at the college is automatically a member of the PTA, how you use that membership is entirely up to you as we do need your support and help in many ways. If you can’t get to the meetings on the second Tuesday of the month, but can offer your help in other ways, please let us know.
