PTA Revival Fashion Show great success

image

On Friday the 8th June 2012 Mahurangi College Parents and Teachers Association held a Fashion Show in the Matakana Hall, this event was organised with the help and support of Revival, “the recycle clothing boutique in Matakana.” The aim of the evening was to showcase the Revival winter collection and in turn encourage the Mahurangi College Students who are currently working on their own fashion project at the College to participate in the next Fashion Show which will be held this coming November 2012.

As well as the fashion show we held a very successful Auction which was officiated by Pete Taylor from Barfoot and Thompson http://www.barfoot.co.nz. With our very own local talent Jo Hathaway as the MC, http://www.wom.co.nz/. Jo worked at a regional TV station in 1995, this involved presenting live news and variety of voice overs.

Our Celebrity Guest in attendance was Veteran Kiwi entertainer Ray Columbus who coincidently suffered a stroke on the 8th of June 2008, 4 years to the day. The audience were amazed at his incredible recovery and charmed by his vibrant personality, dressed in black leather pants, which he mentioned dated back to his youthful days, Louis Vuitton Shirt, tie and a black suit jacket with a vibrant red Fedora Felt Hat. Rays energy, and a touch of Je ne sais quoi reminded us all of what an exceptionable entertainer he truly is.

Our special Thanks also goes out to our generous sponsors, who kindly donated prizes for this successful auction and we would ask everyone to please show your appreciation by supporting these wonderful businesses.
