The school is committed to a policy of encouraging and developing leadership at all levels.
Each whanau class elects a Hapu representative. These Hapu representatives are the student leaders that coordinate house activities.
In addition, the House Captains, Head Students and other elected Hapu representatives form the School Council. This group meets regularly to discuss matters which are of concern to the student body.
The School Council also divides into a number of committees with responsibility for assisting in the organisation of such things as inter-house sports, fund raising and special assemblies. Students not on the School Council have the opportunity to develop their organisational and leadership skills as members of these committees.
Each year the student body elects one of its members on to the Board of Trustees. The student representative attends all Board meetings and has full voting and speaking rights. The Board representative is automatically a member of the Student Council.
