Junior Underwater Hockey Team come second at Regional Champs 2012

Mahurangi College entered 2 teams in the Northern Regional UWH Competition in Auckland over the weekend starting June 15th. Both Teams played their best underwater hockey to date. The Open Seniors ended up 7th after the 3 days of Round Robin Competition (up from 10th in 2011). The Open Juniors played outstanding hockey and took the silver medal home after narrowly losing 2-0 to Glendowie in the final.

Elizabeth Collings was asked to trial for the Northern Regional Under 18 Team. Quite an honour for her.

Special thanks to all the parents who helped out on the weekend and a special thank you to Marg Hargreaves who handled the logistics of the Tournament expertly. We had a fun-filled and exhausting 3 days of competition. The Mahurangi Junior Team has now qualified to play in the NZ Secondary School Champs in Wellington this September. Congratulations to both teams for their staunch efforts!
