OUR ACADEMIES
Academies are an opportunity for senior students who excel academically, on the sports field or in cultural disciplines to extend their abilities and reach for the stars. Students that are selected for these academies work closely with expert teachers and are coached and mentored through their extension programmes. Learning takes place both within the school and outside the classroom walls with trips, performances and competitions being part of the learning experience.
DANCE ACADEMY
We have two auditioned dance groups here at Mahurangi College; Momentum Dance Company and Impulse Dance Group. Both of these groups have regular weekly rehearsals to push for higher technique and performance skills. They have multiple performance and competition opportunities throughout the year including the Dance Showcase and Cultural Blues Evening. Auditions are held at the start of each year. All year levels are welcome to audition.
