APP NOTIFICATIONS / ALERTS
Mahurangi College uses the Skool Loop app (available for free). To ensure you do not miss important notifications we highly recommend that you download onto your phone. Absences can be emailed via the app, students can also access their log in and have quick access to daily notices and the school calendar. STEP BY STEP DOWNLOAD GUIDE

BELL TIMES
Mahurangi College runs a 5 period day.
Students are expected to be on time to all classes and arrive in plenty of time for the start of the day.
8:45am - Period 1
9:50am - Period 2
10:50am - Interval
11:15am - Period 3
12:15pm - Period 4
1:15pm - Lunchtime
2pm - Whānau
2:20pm - Period 5
3:20pm - End of the school day
Please note there is no whānau class on Tuesday mornings as teachers have a professional development meeting.
BUSES
School buses are for students to get to and from school. If students need to catch a different bus please send them to school with a note to Student Services before Period 1 where a pass will be issued after interval. If you need to know the time a bus leaves a stop in the morning please phone Gubbs Motors on 09 425 8348 or see below.
Students should be in correct school uniform to travel by bus, except under special circumstances, such as a school trip or mufti day. During exam leave, senior students must wear correct school uniform to catch a ride.
New bus students must bring a signed bus agreement slip back to school at the beginning of the school year, or as soon as possible after enrolment. Forms are available from student services or the main reception. VIEW BUS RULES

COMMUNICATION
To stay up to date with whats happening at Mahurangi College we recommend following us on Facebook and Instagram where photos are uploaded daily. Each Friday NW@M (next week at Mahu) is emailed to all parents which outlines what you need to know about up and coming events. The WHATS NEW section will keep you up to date with new helpful additions to our website. For community notices we recommend joining our Facebook group 'Mahurangi College Community Notices'. FRIENDS OF MAHU
Friends of Mahu is a group of parents that support our college. They encompass the group of parents and caregivers that get involved in the many facets of school life and strive to help make a difference to the students at Mahurangi College. FRIENDS OF MAHU
HEALTH CENTRE
We have a school nurse on site during school hours. She will contact you if there are any medical concerns in relation to your child. In addition we have regular public health nurse and physiotherapists visit onsite. HEALTH CENTRE

LOCKERS
Lockers are situated at the entrance of the school library. Students can simply place a lock on any available locker to start using it. The lock needs to be removed at the end of the year. There’s no charge.

SIGNING OUT OF SCHOOL
If your child has an appointment during the day they must be signed out through the student services office by a caregiver.
UNIFORM
Please see our UNIFORM page for details. In addition to purchasing uniform new, Friends of Mahu run a second hand uniform recycling program with one sale day each Term. Parents have also found the Facebook group 'Mahurangi College 2nd hand Uniforms' (independently run) helpful.
