Will children be required to physically distance on school buses?

Physical distancing is not practicable on school transport. School buses are what is termed a “controlled environment”, that is, one in which contact tracing can readily occur should that be needed.  Normal services are resuming with no physical distancing requirements.  The Ministry is not running any additional or different services as a result of COVID-19, and we will not be funding directly resourced schools for extra services either. You may receive questions from caregivers and other groups on this topic, therefore we have included some FAQs below to assist you.

Is it compulsory for students to return?

All children must attend unless they are sick or immune compromised.
