FOOTBALL

Football is a sport growing in popularity for both male and female players. Students in Y9-13 are selected to play in our senior teams. Teams play in the Auckland home and away competition at various locations on a weekly basis. Top senior teams compete in the secondary schools winter tournament week in September and also have the opportunity to participate in long standing exchanges with Hauraki Plains and Mt Roskill throughout the year.

 

GAMES (2022)

Girls football takes place on Wednesday at 4pm. The start date is May 11th. Boys football kicks-off on Saturday mornings at either 9am or 10am. The start date is May 14th.

Girls Senior Teams - 7th March Mahurangi College top field 

Boys Senior Teams - 10th March Mahurangi College top field 

 

FEES (2022)

Fees are set at $125 - $200 per season. 

 

​YEAR 7&8 ZONE DAYS

For students in Y7/8 there is a football zone day to participate in. Teams for both Y7 and Y8 Boys and Girls will be selected at trials during term 2. Please check tournament dates below. A combined Y7/8 team is selected following the zone days to represent Mahurangi College at the AIMS tournament in September.

CLUB

Football for juniors and seniors is also offered through our local clubs (see below).

 

TRANSPORT

This is organised by individual managers for the teams. Students are expected to make their own way to the games if playing at home and for training. A $5 donation is expected for away games down at various Auckland locations and parents where possible are on a roster to provide transport.

 

APPAREL

All teams are provided with a playing shirt and shorts. Premier teams will be also issued with a tracksuit and sports blazer for the season. School Sports Blazers will have a $50 bond charged to their school account, this will be returned once the blazer has been returned and dry cleaned. Students are expected to purchase their own playing socks at an additional charge of $15.
