HOCKEY
Hockey is a fast paced, dynamic game between two teams. Each team has the objective of out manoevering the opposition to get the ball into the opponents goal whilst defending their own goal. Involving endurance, speed, agility and hand eye co ordination it is a great challenging sport for both fitness and skills.

WHEN
Trials for all ages are Sunday March 11th at the Warkworth Showgrounds.
After this training is:
Senior Boys Monday 4-5pm
Senior Girls Tuesday 4-5pm
Intermediate Boys - TBC
Intermediate Girls TBC
Matches are as follows:
Senior Boys Wednesday evenings
Senior Girls Thursday evenings
Intermediate Boys either Monday or Tuesday evenings depending on the grade entered
Intermediate Girls Tuesday evenings
All teams may attend an additional "skills only" training on days TBC at the school on the new school turf.

TEACHER IN CHARGE
I am Mrs Gill Kearins. I have been teaching at Mahurangi for 9 years and am currently HOF physical education, health and sport. I have been involved with hockey both as a player and coach at both premier and representative levels for over 20 years so look forward to sharing my knowledge with new and upcoming players.

TRANSPORT
This is organised by individual managers for the teams. Students are expected to make their own way to the Warkworth Showgrounds if playing at home and for training. Transport is organised to take bags to the turf for trainings. A $5 donation is expected for away games down at Rosedale and parents where possible are on a roster to provide transport.
COST:
The cost is $240 for senior teams and $210 for intermediate teams. This cost includes 14 games, 21 trainings and trials (turf hire) a contribution towards uniform which is provided, first aid, paid umpires along with provision of training gear and GK equipment.
APPAREL:
All teams are provided with a playing shirt and skort (skirt with shorts) for the girls and shorts for senior boys. Intermediate boys are expected to provide their own PE uniform shorts. All players are expected to purchase their own playing socks at an additional charge of $15. A cage of balls, bibs and cones is also provided to each team for training.
