Dome Valley Dump News

New Zealand’s biggest waste collection business wants to construct a new landfill site off State Highway One near Wellsford. This means that there could be hundreds of new trucks filled with rubbish, travelling on the dangerous Dome Valley Roads. The dump is proposed to be located on the Springhill Farm. The rubbish from the landfill could affect the farm animals on the land. The site would be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with landfill being dumped between 5am and 10pm daily. This would destroy beautiful land and replace it with toxic waste that destroys the land. This could have an effect on our sea life in the Hoteo River and the Kaipara Harbour. This has led to many posters and banners that people have put up to explain how they feel about this.

In my opinion, I think that this landfill will destroy our native plants, trees and land, and would cause a lot of havoc in the Wellsford district. The landfill shouldn’t have the rights to destroy the Dome Valley Forest.
