Welcome to Mahurangi College.

It is always a pleasure to embrace visitors to our college and to share our amazing people and place.

For families of Year 6 students that are transitioning to our place, our Year 7 and 8 Media team have created a couple of clips of our homerooms and STEAM rooms (coming soon) for you to watch.

Alongside this is our 360 tour which shows a slice of life on a day at Mahurangi College.

Information Packs - Early December

A full information pack will be sent to all new students outlining uniform requirements, stationery etc.

YEAR 7 + 8

Students are taught in their homeroom and there is an element of discovery embedded within their learning. Inquiry frameworks and thinking tools feature within the students’ day. Alongside this, there is also an important focus on ensuring the basics in literacy and numeracy are covered and that the students have strong foundations in both.

STEAM is a programme that combines the Technologies and the Arts curriculum and incorporates elements of Science, Maths and Engineering.

YEAR 9 + 10

Year 9 and 10 programmes are taught by our secondary teachers and period by period organisation. These years are a strong foundation to gain skills and knowledge in separate subject areas.

YEAR 11-13

Senior students are offered NCEA programmes.

Becoming involved with Friends of Mahu is a great way to connect with and support the school community.
